You know that hard time in your life where you don’t know where you’re going or if manifestation is even a thing or if this is how it’s meant to be and everything sucks or if you even know who you are anymore?

Okay. I do not normally do this, but this matcha was actually the best matcha I’ve ever had in Portland. It’s called Neo Coffee and it’s run by this mystical tonberry of a man who whips up magic using all these tinctures and dried fruit. Everything he did was carefully curated- not too sweet or tart- just right. I tried some of my friends too and it was delicious.
Truly amazing. 20/10 💕😌 plugging him like… 👩‍🦳✨

Sunday Best

I like to imagine myself as a rainbow
Bouncing off a million shards of glass
Extending my wings past the pews of the church
Some unholy dynasty
Disappearing into
A hush

So quietly I rush
the distance from shadow to earth
Or from death to birth
To a place to rewrite the pain

An easier source to sustain than the grief, and loneliness, and fears that I rewind in my car
Replaying moments where I felt far
Wide eyed staring off into the powder blue

Was I supposed to be god?
Or be light?
Was I supposed to turn jagged tiles through fire and ash into a mosaic of “am I worthy?”

How do I exist?

When existence is on the pinpoint of the needle
Crosshatched into the ghost in my soul
Drawing madness across the empty stone
Flesh and bone and tears
The organ screams
The painted years

Was I supposed to be on my knees?

We sit in the silence of what should be
And as it extends what I dream doesn’t matter
I swallow the rainbow
And the light disappears behind
Delivering me in the broken wing of a black bird
Safe and hidden from the picture of Mary holding water for the sinners
Swallowing that hush
Behind the teeth, and tongue, and throat
Deep into that ghost
Leaving me alone in the darkness.

We are proud to announce the world premiere of LOCKDOWN at the Justice Media FilmFest — Friday, April 24th at the Power House Theatre in Walla Walla, WA.

LOCKDOWN is a 15-minute short film written, directed, and performed entirely by incarcerated creators inside Washington State Penitentiary. The film follows a group of men confined during a sudden lockdown. In the stillness of enforced isolation, they lean on one another for hope. And for survival.

Created in collaboration with screenwriter and producer Don Roff and Unincarcerated Productions, LOCKDOWN is exactly what this festival exists to celebrate - proof of what becomes possible when incarcerated artists are given the tools, the trust, and the space to tell their own stories.

This is its first public screening. We hope you’ll be in the room.

I don’t always share my poetry anymore because when I reread it it’s soooo sad. Lmao

Love Is Hiding

There’s a flame in a window I light for an impossible dream
A life unfiltered and unseen
Where the wind blows soft and sweet
Singing lullabies for my tears
And the endless days I’ve spent wandering
Mean something to the years

There’s a box beneath my bed
That I’ve filled with love letters and trinkets
I sometimes hold them in my palm instead of living
Little 4x6 postcards from loves long past giving apologies and answers to pain
I rewrite the memories to stay sane
And I know- that drawn lines in skin don’t mean anything if you don’t put weight to them
A dimple is just a dimple
But when I trace that indent to the places where it all began
That simple thing
makes me forget
what I thought mattered
And leaves my head empty as that box

There’s a blank page folded in a notebook I hide
Never asking what’s inside
Because possibility brings hopelessness now
Something about love in cursive
It reminds me how the dark caverns of my longing once created a hole in the earth that I’m told reached to the other side
So wide it seemed it might swallow me hole
So I let go
I let go

There’s a bead of truth
Strung to a necklace in the box by the window on the notebook on top of the night stand and the mess
Bouncing light and fighting wind and dreams
I never put it on
I never let it go
I never let it seem like I care
For I think if it wraps itself around me once more
I might just disappear
Into sea foam
That’s why I go it alone.
