Unincarcerated Productions

Year:

2023

Unincarcerated Productions is a justice-centered media organization dedicated to shifting who holds the microphone. We create film, podcasts, and storytelling projects with incarcerated and justice-impacted people- not about them- using media as a tool for dignity, skill-building, and systemic change. Our work replaces distance with proximity and interpretation with authorship, proving that ethical storytelling can also be powerful, professional, and transformative.

Concrete Mama is Unincarcerated Productions’ flagship podcast, recorded inside Washington State Penitentiary and hosted by incarcerated creators. The series documents lived experiences of incarceration, clemency, separation, and return in real time- serving as both an oral history archive and an act of advocacy. Concrete Mama centers humanity in a system built to erase it, reminding listeners that hope, grief, and redemption can coexist.
